1978 Star Wars Special
Aired on CBS Friday November 17th 1978
video
The guitar in this video is a bit of a mystery to me.
It has something on the headstock which looks to be covering the logo,
about the length and same placement as a "Boogie Bodies" logo.
It is a string thru tail piece, something that most Boogie Bodies had
at the time.
The 12th fret dots are the same spacing as a boogie bodies.
But it looks to have 2 hums
control knobs??
This one has 2 hums but 2 string tree's on the headstock.
I talked with Lynn Ellsworth but he kept no records of these early
guitars and didn;t recall Craig having a second one.
Craig himself didn't think he had second one until he discovered a
picture in 2015 of another he had (pictures below).
One is left to wonder ...
Did he own a third?
Did he swap neck and bodies or pickguard with different pickups?
If you have insight into this or have additional info, ideas or
suggestions, please contact me!
comment on:
mine
- 2 bottom strap buttons
- single in middle
- 1 string tree (video has)
bridge pu against bridge (no space like xxxx)
evidence its a boogie bodies:
a fender would not have been a string thru
12th frets dots
logo cover up
how many did craig have?
he originally only recalled 1
and if it isnt xx or 41 then what one??
scenarios:
swapped pick guard?
string tree's not somehting likely changed
Freedom At Point Zero inside album picture info
Chaquico had a second all-black Boogie Bodies
And this was on Freedom at Point Zero inner sleeve
